On 8th October 2014 a new studentshome for the City of Luxembourg was inaugurated in Grund. The building on the fork junction Rue Munster/Rue Trèves was renovated and transformed. In the ground floor the surfaces for a café were maintained, in the upper floors were created 7 students appartments. Today, a wine bar has been installed in the café. The students received a seperate entry, a common kitchen and day room, as well as a bathroom on every floor. During the renovation a focus was layed on the conservation of historic elements such as the wooden floor in the café and the wooden joist floor on the ground and first floor. In the choice of materials, a special attention was payed to natural materials that fit well in the urban structure of Luxembourg-Grund.
